Priscilla The Party - Here @ Outernet, London

We’ve had the film, we’ve had the stage show, now we’ve got the party! Priscilla is back with a bang in this fully immersive production playing at Here@Outernet .

With a dining package available and a menu of delicious themed cocktails on offer, this is the perfect night out with friends for a birthday, hen/stag do, or just a particularly dreary Wednesday when you need some sparkle in your life!

This show stays true to the original Priscilla Queen of the Desert story following Tick, Adam and Bernadette on a journey across the Australian outback to meet Ticks estranged wife and put on a drag show at her casino. It’s jam packed with brilliant songs, spectacular costumes and clever staging.

As I enter the venue it has been transformed into The Cockatoo Club with glitter balls hanging from the ceiling and neon lights signalling the bar and food areas. It’s the perfect setting for this show and we first off meet our host for the evening; Gay Cliché who serves as a narrator and tells us of the story we’re about to watch unfold before us. They cover some house rules and let those of us in the standing areas know that we may be moved around by the Cocktail Club Crew as various set pieces are moved in and out. Huge shout out to the Cocktail Club Crew who did a wonderful job of crowd management and kept the party going all afternoon!

Owain Williams is fantastic as Tick, who persuades friends Bernadette (Dakota Starr) and Adam (Reece Kerridge) to go on the trip with them. The three work so brilliantly together and you truly believe the friendship between them all. Dakota is outstanding as Bernadette, playing the motherly figure with grace and poise, a beautiful performance to watch. Reece Kerridge is a star as Adam, the young, bouncy and carefree queen who still has some learning to do about the world. Their entrance song in particular is fantastic!

All the songs in this show are ones we know and love; ‘Go West’, ‘Hot Stuff’ and ‘Colour My World’ are personal favourites with incredible costumes and inspired staging you truly are in the world of the drag queens and feel like a part of the performance. The huge cast of ensemble really makes this show what it is, with brilliant vocals and dancing talent they all add so much to the show overall.

I cannot recommend this show enough. It’s pure joy from start to finish so if you’re looking for a glitter filled extravaganza of a show, look no further Priscilla the Party is where you need to be!
